1992 Miata 302, 5-speed - $11,000
Selling my Monster Miata with a 302 V8 swap. I love the car, but I am trying to fund another project, so it has to go. My loss is your gain!
Year: 1992
Make: Mazda
Model: Miata MX5
Engine: Ford 5.0/302 (from an 89 Mustang), .30 over 1993 Cobra crank and rods, forged pistons, new bearings and seals, camshaft, crankshaft. I was told the horsepower was ~370 from the guy that built the motor, but I have not substantiated this
Heads: 195 Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads with 1.95 and 2.02 valves with upgraded springs and rockers.
Camshaft: Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 493/500 lift
Fuel: FiTech Go EFI 4 fuel injection system on aluminum intake with Ford Racing tall rocker covers. Ready for boost/nitrous; has all the controls and tuning capabilities right at your fingertips with the digital display
Trans: Ford World Class T-5, freshly rebuilt with new bearings and new Ford Racing flywheel, Stage 2 clutch, hydraulic clutch slave, custom drive shaft
Diff: Ford 8.8 rear differential with 355 gears and custom chromoly axles with upgraded wheel hubs
Exhaust: Headers with side pipes
Paint: It is factory red, it looks like it was repainted once, but could use it again
Wheels: 15x7 aftermarket (unknown brand)
Tires: Accelera 205/50 ZR15 89WXL rear
Other: It has a Hard Dog rollbar, new trunk-mounted battery, MSD ignition, custom V8 Miata seats, aftermarket hood scoop
Price: $11,000
This car runs and drives and it's a sleeper…and most importantly – it is FAST. I have had 4 Fox-body Mustangs, and none of them would hang with this little Monster.
The individual I bought it from had set it up to use as a drift car. He bought it from the guy who built it. I can provide you with the builder’s number for more info.
It could easily be tuned for street, drag, or drift. Supposedly the builder used the kit from Monster Miata.
I am located in Springfield, IL.

Modifications?
Troy,
You list all the engine modifications. Other questions:
- What is the status of heater, A/C, and power sterring?
- What has been done to suspension and brakes?
TIA.

The shocks were upgraded KYB with HD springs from Monster Miata. The control arms are stock OEM, and the sway bar is a Flyin Miata Stage 2 up front, and rear is stock. The links I believe are shorter with Watts links (as the previous owner told me).

Also, if you haven't yet taken a look at this video, it may answer some questions for you. It has a pretty decent walkaround, including the undercarriage, so you can get a visual of some of the components.
