LS NA Project for Sale
Looking to sell my Miata LS Swap Project. Life priorities have changed and I've had to re-group on this hobby.
You are not buying a basket case here - you're buying an unmodified 1990 Miata that runs and drives (literally stickered this month, I drive it weekly). Along with it you get all of the parts I've put together to do the swap (less the engine).
Exterior pics below are following a detail last summer. Interior pics are from yesterday 9/19/2021. PM me for more pics / video of the car running.
Included in sale:
Final Bonus - a half Miata front tub section for mocking up your choice of motor, K member, etc. This halves the amount of space this project will take up in your garage. You can be mocking up your powertrain in the garage and running to the parts store in the running Miata. Once you're happy with your setup you can do the swap.
NOT INCLUDED - the motor in the pics. This sale does not include the motor.
$6,750 - winner takes all, including my boxes of miscellaneous hardware and extra fenders and bumpers. I am literally handing you my project (less the engine...just need to be clear on that.)
Located in Culpeper, VA. Possible delivery available.

Included in sale:
- 1990 Mazda Miata in good shape. Clean interior, clean exterior. Has rust in the typical places. Runs awesome. Good oil pressure. Smooth shifts (manual 5 speed.) Soft top is good, save for a hole in the rear plastic window. Riding on Falken Azeni tires installed last summer, less than 2000 miles on them. Drive it today. Also has Factory hard top in fair shape. A little faded and chipped, but totally serviceable. Car has about 240K miles on it.
- LS or SBC Swap ready Transmission setup: AR5 5 speed transmission with Novak Adapter to GM bell housing. C5 clutch and flywheel. Speedway hydraulic throw out bearing already correctly spaced, with remote bleeder line.
- Rear sub frame already modified with a ford 8.8 IRS rear end already installed. The 8.8 is open with 3.43 gears (which are a good match to the AR5 transmission ratios.) I also have brand new matching axels for the ford diff and the Miata. I have custom designed and machined splice tubes for these axles. I can have them welded for you if you wish. Hubs were sand blasted, cleaned and painted. They have brand new Timken wheel bearings and seals installed. Along with this I also have a matching O.E. positrac carrier setup that just needs new springs and friction discs.
- Custom Stainless steel unibody reinforcement rails - heavier / stronger than the Flyin Miata setup.
- Factory 2004 GTO exhaust manifolds (which clear the car frame rails and the steering shaft.) for your choice of LS motor.
- A set of runnable 241 cylinder heads for your choice of LS motor.
- An extra set of Daisy wheels for winter tires or your choice of all seasons.
