Did you look here?
http://www.miataturbo.net/forumdisplay.php?f=6

I'm sure you can find a nice turbo one for that $.
Look at cspence and miataspeed2005's cars
Each pretty nice for the price you pay.

5.0 miata prob not gonna happen at that price unless it's
Roached out.

Ls1 miata, forget it. Cheapest one out there is $10k

Yea man, not gonna happen. If you want a nice road ready one your looking around the $15-$20K mark... And it would be worth it because most of these guys put more than that into the car to make it right.

For that much money the best you're going to do is pick up someone's half finished project. Think $15 to $25 for one that meets your requirements.

I'm in the Allentown area. You're more than welcome to come take a look at mine (or even a drive) and see why there worth a bit more than $6k.

If you're handy and know how to aquire parts on a budget you can build a Monster Miata (Ford) kit for around $10k. It may not be pretty though. I'd be more than happy to help you map it out (and sell you a few things).

Good luck,

Jason,

I am handy and could build it, but the timing could be no worse for me right now. I'm about to buy a house and there is no way I could afford to drop the $$ to do it.

I checked out your website a bit. Do you get a lot of miata's in and build them for customers? If so I figure in a year or so, i'd like to keep you in mind. I'd feel better purchasing one from a shop that legitimately does this stuff on the regular.

At this point I'm just making up parts in my spare time (harnesses, TFI kits, AC hoses, etc.). My father and I are looking to build another full car in the next two years, most likely a 306 ci build similar to the white car we did a few years ago. We'll price it in the low to mid $20K range when done. Unlike some other builders, that price includes the donor car, an upgraded adjustable suspension, AC, exhaust, roll bar, wheels, tires and everything else we believe a "finished" V8 Miata should have. We will not be using a car from the northeast this time.

The price of liability insurance required to actually take someone else's car and convert it would take two builds a year to recoup. For now you have to wait until we build one and have it for sale.

This just in!

The owner of my second build (chassis 001) is looking to sell. He's not willing to let it go for the $6k originally posted but he is in the philly area (sellersville, actually). The car started life as a 1993 LE and was converted a few years ago. The McCully Racing Motors website has a few videos of it at the dyno befoe and after recieving a set of AFR heads and Edlebrock intake:

http://www.mccullyracingmotors.com/i...oundTheWeb.htm

Here's my cardomain page for it with some pictures of the build:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3129713

Note that the page has not been updated since the head/intake has been done. It's now making 290 rwhp on a stock a9L.

If you are interested I'll forward his contact info to you. The added bonus of it going to someone in this area is that I, the builder can continue to support it. It's 100% PA Philadelphia-region Emmissions legal.
