What about a procharger type set up? Will it fit? Has anyone done it?

Best blue oval engine bay I've seen (in a Miata).

After installing the 5.0 in my 96, I highly doubt it. The stock alt bracket is very close to the pass side frame rail/headlight.

I found a video on youtube and it shows a vortech on a monster. Anybody on here ever done it? I'm looking to connect with someone on what all is involved.

Thanks..

Les Marsh did a blow through carb w/Paxton. http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/7500/dscf2488tr8.jpg Pretty much eliminates any chance for A/C.

Thanks Tom. My car is fuel injected and the vortech is a passenger side mount, not driver side.

I may just bolt it up and see how it goes.....I already have the vortech from a prior build, and I can have the brackets and head unit bolted up in an hour or so (if it fits). Looks like I may just go the route of trial and error......

Only thing that concerns me is that if it fit and worked fine, I'd expect to see at least several out there with vortechs, and I don't.....

I think the issue with the passenger side mounting is the re-location of the alternator. There is also the other belt to squeeze in behind the radiator.

I could sell the vortech for almost enough to get a 347 shortblock. That may be the better way to go for me. Less cooling issues too. ~350-380 rwhp NA would be plenty

Based on the fit of my engine, I think the discharge tube would be a big issue.

I have a centrifugal supercharger set-up for a Mustang & an extra compressor. There is a reason I chose to go with the Kenne Bell.

I figured....lol. If it was reasonably do-able, I would expect to see more out there with centrifugals....

I'm leaning toward NA horsepower (and nitrous) after seeing all the challenges cooling a v8 miata. I mounted the bottle in the trunk yesterday

Posting up here to close the loop on the vortech supercharger question.

I installed a vortech S trim on my car and was able to keep the A/C an power steering. It's really not all that bad........just takes some time, patience, and some basic fabrication work (no welding). You have to convert the kit from a 2 belt setup with a separate blower belt to a single belt setup where the SC runs off the same belt as the accessories. Works like a charm...

If anyone is trying to install one, feel free to PM me or post up here....glad to help.
