Default What oil pan?

I searched and could not find a thread about oil pans? What is up with that?
So I am prepping for a LS1 swap and am wondering what oil pan people are using? Thanks in advance.....

Here is the thread.

Not sure why but it didn't come up in an oil pan search for me either. Probably because the title is pans! rather than just pan. BTW there is a new pan out there now that V8R uses that I think is from Mast.

LOL no problem. I added V8 oil pan to the title so hopefully guys can find it in the future. I should probably sticky it and keep it up to date since it is such a vital issue in these builds.

im bumping this back up... So is it for sure that the mast pan will work with a v8r sub-frame? My pan is leaking and I'll need to bite the bullet soon. Anyone have any additional info about the Mast pan to add in?

Not that I have heard of. I'll give a plug for the Kevko steel pan though because I have 12,000 miles on mine with no issues or leaks at all.

Are you using the LS hot rod pan?

Nope I am using the pan they make for V8R. Before I found my ebay deal I called Kevko to get the low down on their pans. They were kind of sheepish about it and said they could not sell me the V8R pan but they did have another stock pan with the same front clearance as the V8R pan. They would not come right out and say the specs were the same but she did say it should fit.

I think either of the top 2 listings they have on their site would work but the Fbody pan is probably the closest. I think the sump in the LS1 pan is a little shorter front to back but that would not bother anything. If you could get them to send you more detailed measurements on it we could compare them to my pan.

The Mast pan is an intriguing option too with Vettedrmr using one successfully.

Whoops I see a problem here. The oil lines on that F body pan come right out to the header.

I can get under mine in a couple of weeks to get better shots to be sure but that looks like a real pisser.

I used the Mast pan. martin said he built his subframe kit around it. The Holley pan spec'd out very close, but the mast pan dd have the thinnest front section. I didn't want to find out it was too thick, and have to send back and get the Mast anyway. It works great, with no issues. I do an use an extra quart of oil in the pan, and have had no issues.
