Hey guys just joined the club gonna start building a monster over the months anyone with the same build

5.7 iron block
76mm turbo

Yeah i post some more stuff pretty soon..having trouble with uploading pictures..
But for goals im aiming for 500whp with out boost once i get everything situated and get uset to the car ima start fabing up my rear mount turbo set up maybe mid 600 to 700ish just throwing out number right now ,probley track it alil but mostly car shows and meets

5.7 Iron? So you're swapping in a SBC not an LS?

The motor is from a 2002 tahoe 5.3 getting it bored to a 5.7 ,and aftermartket internals comes out 2000 less from just getting a ls1 and besides it would be a brand new motor ,i think the weight differnese is like a 100 pounds shouldnt be that bad

I only paid 3k for my ls1/t56/harness/ecm, and I just saw an ls block on craigslist in ST. Louis for less than 500.

Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, just transferring information, sounds like you have a good plan so far.

Thats a steal ,im from tx the cheapst i em go for in good condition 4,500. Thanks
I got my 5.3 at a local junk yard for 147

I see them a bit less than that (DFW), but I think with TX being a near year round motorsports state, the motors are in higher demand and more picked over.
