Trackspeed Engineering
Hi everyone, I'm Nick at Trackspeed Engineering. We are a race shop located in California that specializes in Miatas. We do everything from street cars to Spec Miatas to turbocharged Miatas.
Our current time attack car is a turbocharged Miata owned by Andrew Kidd (Savington on all of the forums, also one of the founders of Trackspeed Engineering). We recently attended Redline Time Attack at California Speedway in Fontana, CA to compete in modified RWD. During morning practice, we had the fastest lap time in class by about a second. Unfortunately, about halfway through the day, cylinder number three went.
The plan is to build a second time attack/wheel to wheel race car but this time with a v8 as the power plant. Keep an eye out for our 2010 race car build thread.

Welcome aboard!!
Looks like you'll have some valuable info on tire & wheel selection / experience for competition, great!
I think a close to stock V8, languishing around the course in your Track Attack Miata, will not only be faster, it'll probably be more economical in the long run and less likely to grenade.
Maximum Fun is a REQUIREMENT!! Just my opinion>
