well it's not a maverick
because the other 10 cars in my driveway are maverick and comets .
It is definitely the smallest car I own and the cool thing was this one
was FREE . I to have seen the gearz episode and think "this would be a cool project" .
My first question I will be asking is what rear does everyone going with
but that is another thread . any ways hope to get to know some of you guys

Hi Raymond,
Welcome!
As for the rear, the 7.5" IRS diff from a early 90's Thunderbird is probably the most common used as it's the one the Monster Miata kit (the kit shown on Gearz) is designed around. Some have used the 8.8" but requires some more custom work. The 7.5, believe it or not, seems to hold up to a lot of torque in a miata. I haven't heard of anyone busting one yet (not to say it hasn't happened though).

Wow! Another guy in KY who has an interest in V8 Miatas! Neat!
My LS6 Miata has the 7.5 rear and is doing just fine at 442rwhp. Of course, I don't beat the car up; so, I expect it to last a long time.
Maybe you can swipe an engine out of one of the Mavericks for your project. I had a '73 Maverick Grabber (new) that was pretty spiffy with the 302.
