Default Sponsorships / vendor links

Any thoughts here? Seems it'd be nice to have one central place to look to find links to the various companies either producing kits or otherwise providing useful parts support.

Heck, I'm not sure I even know all of the companies producing / selling conversion kits.

Here’s a few:

Monster Miata (formally known as “Panache”):
-The “Original” V8 Conversion kit and the only one if you want to use a Ford small block Windsor. He also offers a track-tested big brake kit that is applicable to all V8 and high-powered Miatas:

Bishop Sales:
-Where to get Monster Miata’s kit if you happen to live in Canada:

Racing Concepts:
-The first company to offer an LSx kit for the Miata. They have had some difficulty but seem to still be afloat:

V8 Roadsters:
-The second company to offer a LSx kit. They make the kit that Flyin’ Miata is offering and the bare front subframe that could conceivably be used to mount just about anything in the Miata.

Flyin’ Miata:
-Flyin’ Miata distributes V8 Roadster’s kit and also will install it for you if you have $29K or so lying around:

Boss Frog:
-The newest company to offer an LSx Kit. From what I understand, the advantage of this kit is that it offers two engine placement schemes, one that located the engine further back and requires firewall mods and one that placed it a little further forward and requires no mods.

Fat Cat Motorsports:
-Offers a specific V8-rated coil-over setup that has worked well for me several times:

949Racing:
-Now offering some V8-specific components:

and my personal favorite…

McCully Racing Motors:
-Offering specialized components such as wire harnesses, AC kits and brake kits for the Ford conversion market that build off of Monster Motorsport’s kit. Some items may be applicable to LSx conversions as well:

I'm thinking Racing Concepts is going to have a steep climb to counter the bad press it brought upon itself.

Speaking of which, anybody here have the skinny on what ever might have happened to Johnny Jax & zenspeed?

I was wondering about that just the other day. I tried googling "zen speed smart car" and found nothing that related.

FYI, the V8 Roadsters kit sold by Flyin' Miata does have the option of the front ("cutting scares me!") and rear ("handling is good") engine placements. I guess it's fairly obvious which I prefer

FM also offers the full range of every nut and bolt you will need to do an LS conversion.

His website is down. Maybe he rebuilt the miata with the torque tube setup and it was so fast that it flew away..... Or burnt down again
