Default Miata drive train

Hey guys,
I am new to this forum and I have a question that may have been asked alot.
I have a 95 Miata and I have a Ford 302 just lying around and of course I am thinking of the possibility of the V8 install. My question is this, would it be possible to install the 302 motor with the rest of the miata drive train? I have read where some miata's have 2-300+ HP with the 1.8 engine. The 5 speed and the rear end should be capable of the extra power. Are there adapters made for the transmission to motor? Just some of my thoughts, Thanks for your reply.

The adapter, if they make one, would probably cost more than a T-5 transmission.
