SN95 94/95 T5 & Bell in 5.0 Miata Conversion?
Hey! I've done some searching but hoping to get confirmation on the ability to use the longer SN95 T5 trans setup. I'm collecting drive train now for the Ford 5.0 conversion and thinking that the one inch longer setup would better align the shift lever if nothing else.
I've seen that it requires a little more work with the slave cylinder but wondering if it has been done successfully? Does it create additional exhaust pipe clearance issues? Does it really help with the shifter alignment? Does the bell housing fit OK without additional tunnel clearance?
any experience with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I already have the SN95 T5 trans, bell, etc. Thinking that I may go ahead and use it. I'm really curious about the shifter location relative to the Miata tunnel opening.
I'm thinking it should be a little closer to "stock".

tbone, thank you. I'm surprised it is not more common to use the SN95 set up if it indeed lines things up better. Maybe due to availability. I'm gonna find out if it really works.

Anyone have more info on this? Ive got the engine from an SN95, and I'm currently looking for a transmission.
It does look like the shifter would be located in a better spot, but would the bell housing require the firewall to be hammered back a little more?

I have sn95 bell and tranny in my car. I didn't have to do much tunnel bashing and didn't notice it to be anything much different than a fox bell and tranny. The mounting surface for a slave cylinder is a little different than fox set up but I was able to make it work with some creativity. Car has about 6k miles, track day, and a few autox without issue. I did have to make the factory shifter hole a little larger in the floor and made a bracket to relocate the shifter a little further back because it was still too far forward to shift into first without interfering with the center console
