Default Automatic Miata for a donor?

Any problems with this (other than needing a standard shift center console)?

How's the resell value of a automatic Miata tranny?

Actually, I'm wondering if an automatatic donor can be set up to use the 5speed tranny + v8.

Think the hard part is to put a master cylinder, But i think i will try a mustang clutch pedal and a cable...

For the rest you have to do the wiring anyway...

All you would need to source is a Miata clutch pedal. Most conversions use a upgraded master anyhow and it's never a good idea to use a used slave.

i used an automatic donor car. I bought a set of manual pedals and thats it. I used the auto center console, just put a shift boot in the hole where the shifter assembly was.

so the automatic miata already has a place to bolt in the manual clutch / brake pedals? just for clarification.

yes. you need the clutch pedal assembly (bracket and pedal) and just the brake pedal itself. no need to change the brake pedal bracket.

Just as some closure - I bought an automatic Miata but it was too nice to use for the conversion so I flipped it for some quick cash.

No Miata is "too nice" for a V8 conversion...unless you can make a quick buck on it.

I built a "rare" '93 LE into my second build. When people asked me to not use it I asked them if thy were willing to "spare it" by buying it from me for $5K or so. No takers. Ironically, it sold for 3 times that with a V8 in it and is now a whole lot more rare

Let us know what you ultimately end up with,
-Jason
