HELP Ignition Coil Exploded 1990 Miata
Greetings,
So I was so close to finishing my project. The car was running like a champ, the exhaust put on, just had to hook up gauges and radiator fan. As I was doing that I had the ignition on in the car so I could track down the power wires to my fan. I heard a sizzle, and looked over in time to see my ignition coil blow up.
After some investigating I figured out that I had the power to the coil wired wrong. I replaced the coil, the spark plug wire to the distributor and the ignition control module, just in case, and tried to start the car. nothing.
The car turns over just fine, and I know its getting fuel. It sounds like it wants to catch, with a little shake of the motor, but it doesn't fire up any more. I have not touched the timing. Does anyone have any idea what could cause it not to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
