Hood Clearance on 302 With Weiand Stealth Intake
Hi guys, I have previously built my V8 miata based on a 1995 mustang 302 with the low stock intake, I have not had to cut any of my hood structure.
I am wanting to wake the engine up a bit and am planning to convert it to a Holley sniper with carb style intake manifold.
The issue I'm having is getting a sense of what will clear the hood without cutting - I have been looking at the edelbrock 2121 performer as it sits low; I would much rather go with something like the Weiand Stealth intake for better flow and potential but am unsure if I can get it to fit.. I have seen this question asked here before but have not found a definitive answer.
Or does anyone potentially have the height of a stock SN95 upper and lower intake whichI could use to compare to the height of the proposed intakes plus holley sniper and plenum? I can do this myself if I pull the engine apart but prefer to keep it together until it is closer to the time I will swap it all over.
Has anyone in the 302 miata world used an intake similar to the Weiand Stealth and had it fit under the stock hood, possibly with something like the spectre performance 98499 intake plenum?

I have back in 2010 when I built my '91 Miata with a '93 Mustang 5.0 engine and T5. I used a front accessory drive from a '95 T-Bird. I also used a Weiand Stealth manifold and Holley carb. I had posted some pictures up while I was working
on it. I also modified my original subframe to make it work, I did remove the hood under bracing to clear the carb and air cleaner. I used a chrome low top air cleaner like they used on HP Chevys with Holley carbs. I might still have some pictures of it. They may not be very sharp because I would have to scan them.
