Any cheaper LSx header options?
Hello everybody! My name is Jordan and I'm new to the forum as well as Miatas. I just picked up an NB Miata and a crashed 1999 Camaro z28. I've been trying to plan out all aspects of the build before I start shelling out cash.
So, my question is, has anyone tried to use headers other than the rediculously expensive FM or v8r? I know people will say the Sandersons are a good alternative but they are still half the price (if coated) of the others and they are regular steel!
I was thinking about getting a set of stainless eBay block hugger headers ($160) but can't tell how well they'd fit.

Ive heard that the boss frog kit uses hooker headers that are dented, and the eBay units look like clones of the hooker headers. I'm fine denting a primary because they are 1-5/8" and I'm not going to be putting down much more than 300whp
Ultimately: I'd love to save some money and get stainless headers but if it comes down to it I'll get bare steel Sandersons and wrap them.(would still be $200+ more than eBay stainless)

If/when I am ready for headers I will more than likely get something like these (cheap). If they don't work 'out of the box' then I'll have to cut and reweld them. If they work without much modification then I will post up a new thread detailing the experience.
But, like I said, it'll be a long way off.
