Eastwood internal exhaust coating
Looking to see if anybody has used the Eastwood High-Temp Internal Exhaust Coating. After I finish modifying my Headman headers to fit I plan on trying out this coating. At $19.99 a rattle can it seems worth trying. I got a quote back from my local ceramic coater,(largest in western Canada), of $600, seems a bit steep for me but then I am cheap, if I can do it myself I will and enjoy the knowledge along the way.
So long story short, has anybody tried this product out!! Opinions, should I just pay the $600 bones and move on!!!
Thanks

I dont have any experience with the Eastwood stuff but I think it all depends on your setup. With mine, I had them professionally done because of very tight tolerances to motor mounts, knock sensors, etc. It just gives me a little more piece of mind that a good coating might keep my under hood temps down better than a diy job. Let us know what you end up doing.

Well I placed an order for the Eastwood product, I will post my results and well if it cost me a set of $200 headers and $40 dollars worth of product, I guess lesson learned. $600.00 just seems ridiculous to me for dipping my headers and two 30" lengths of 2.5" pipe. Guess I am too cheap!! Shoot I can get a set of custom water jacketed, SS ceramic coated headers for my boat for $1100.00 and the $600 is for just coating.... not if I can help it.
Do I look stupid to you? one of my favorite movie quotes!!

Have you thought about shipping them to somebody in the states to coat? I had a motorcycle header & pipe coated for around $150 here:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ameri...94959030529668

I am planning a trip South soon so I may just bring it with me to a shop in the US. Shipping and DUTY and our crappy $, no free trade for us on this side of the border, makes it almost the same price. Only in CANADA you say!!

I was also thinking of wrapping, we have some great products that we use in the boat world for when things are turbo'd and wet exhaust is not an option. Being I like to learn the "Hard Way" I am sure I will just try the coating first and then apply the wrapping if I feel I need it.
Gotta run, the open water calls for the "need for speed" today, boat runs best in 2 feet of chop!!
