Default Long tubes with 3" dual back

originally posted by MX6.0 on LS1tech.... has me thinking....

This exhaust system gained 35RWHP and 38RWTQ over the FM shorties/2.5" duals

Here's the exhaust build thread. http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...o-results.html

Kooks longtubes into dual 2.5" into a single 3" through a summit(read "cheap") turbo muffler

Sorry about the grainy video, had a homeless guy on the side of the road with an IPhone film it

Great fabrication work on the exhaust, and I LOVE the way it sounds! Hope I can get my ol' stroker Ford to sing like that. Beautiful timbre without excessive amplitude...'cept when you stand on the fortissimo pedal.

I love the off throttle snap crackle and pop w/o being raspy (normally goes together). Can't wait to get my car back. I'll take it to the dyno to adjust the fuel trims for the new intake and see where it's at pwr wise. Then it's long tube time. I'm going to try it with the FM header back to get a b4/after of just changing headers. See if it's really the primaries choking the system. The next step will be ditching the cats. They are both flat bottomed from the previous owner touching down with a lower ride height. I suspect there is at least some core damage. (would have to be...)

nearly 40whp and torque just from exhaust..incredible. That should have us all thinking.

his engine wasn't stock either so the larger primaries of his LT's really benefited him. LT's would benefit a stock engine too, but I wouldn't expect to see as much of a gain.

his engine was basically built to LS3 specs. The LTs and 3" back were added independent of any other work.
