Default Looking at Roll bar

Any advice on roll bars? Never thought going cheap where life was concerned but did not want to buy one just from looking at the adds.
Also do not want issues with the top or seat movement..

You could not go wrong with a HardDog Double Diagonal where safety is concerned. I've used these in all of my track cars that were driven on the street, even some of my street only cars.....

I have the HD-DD also. It fits very good. I added a set of DIY Roadster door bars to it. I recommend getting the roll bar pad & cover as well.

Default Mrmustang,Tbone-Thanks

Do appreciate the info on Hard Dog Diagonal cages. Having a '90 I don't think it matters if it is a M1 or M2. Will be a street car at least for now...

Get one that will work with a hard top just in case you ever want to do that. What ever you do don't weld up your own like I did it's not worth it!

Jim,
Would not do that as my skills are not there and when younger have gotten in over my head more then once. Will look at the HDDD M2 which, will fit both I believe. Tbone suggested a pad and cover and think that is a good idea.

The door bars can be seen here:https://www.facebook.com/DIYroadster if you so desire.

Tbone,
Thanks for the door bar idea and link. Had not really thought about the door bars but seeing them in the pics, makes me think. How do they interface with the HDDD?

I wondered that too. It looks like they go from the floor in the back rather than the bar like most of them do.

The door bars bolt into the mount of the HardDog bar. These door bars fit very nice & added a lot of chassis rigidity.

Tbone,
As long as the door bars just bolt on, will look at them. Getting added safety and chassis rigidity is not a bad idea...Thanks

I have the Boss Frog Clearview and I love it. I even used the BF door bars. I will say this about the door bars, they are built beefy and bolt to the car in 4 places not just two as others are. The bad news is they are a pain to get used to. The front foot mount puts your foot at an angle when you use the dead pedal. To solve that I rest my calf on the end of the door bar on long trips.
The Hard Dog door bars are more comfy to get in/out of the car but as I say the trade off is the two point mount.
