Miatas in Canada and opinions on a donor
So I haven't spent a ton of time looking into V8 Miatas but I've spent enough time to become convinced that this will be my next project. Does anyone who has built a car in Canada have any advice?
Also I am looking at this car:

Is it worth the money and what extras that come with it will be good to have with a V8 conversion?

Start off with a rust-free car. With the V-8 swap, I would recommend that you upgrade shocks, springs, Sways, & brakes as well as install a real roll bar. If you can find a Miata that has been turboed at a good price, that would be a good choice as a donor because the resale value of those aftermarket parts is high.

6500 is a little high for a miata that you will convert... Tbone is right a rust free one is a good start. Pay 2700 for mine, that already have big brake, rear diff, aluminum drive shaft, frame connector and apexi N1 coil over.
But the car have no engine and trans and the interror are not good... look at my picture.
I change the trunk and there only a small rust spot on one quater.
I'm from Quebec, and miata price are realy high here. Good luck with your project and if i can help you let me know.

The extras that come with the car are: front strut brace(guessing that won't be usable), front and Rear adjustable sway bar, adjustable end links, SCCA Solo 1 roll bar and 15" alloys with performance tires.

you will see... Mine come with the 15" enkei but i change for 16" with 225-45-16 rubber...
if the car is clean and don't need a paint like mine it's worth it... But in my case i have a paint booth.
you go with Ford or chevy engine?

The paint booth I have access to won't fit a car so I'm trying to find one that is in good shape paint wise.
Your car looks like a serious project! Should be sweet when its finished.
I am leaning towards a chevy engine but not dead set so if anyone has opinions on that I wouldn't mind hearing them.

Chevy was my first choice, ran a lot of chevy engine, but the price of it turn me to the ford. Anyway you have fun with any v8 engine...
Good luck with your project and let me know when you get your miata.

Other than Kijiji and Lespac, anywhere else you been looking for when trying to find your shell? There's nothing great for a reasonable price around here, been look for a while... I'm still debating if I should pull my V8 swap on the 93LE, or get a second Miata for it.

When I decide to pull the trigger - IF I decide to do so - I'm sure it'll be a very long and sweatful project.
Finding a perfect NB shell for cheap would defenitly kick start it.
