Default Yea, so this happened.

Bassett 15X10 6" backspace, plan on running the setup square. Btw for anyone who cares.

The cheapest I found these online was a circletracksupply, however, I saw all wheels were made to order, and that summit did indeed carry other Bassett wheels, so I called summit (who also offers free shipping on anything over $100) I got all 4 wheels shipped for $343. I also believe (after sitting on the phone with their website guys) they have added this wheel size and pattern to their site.

Guess its time to break out some sheet metal and a welder for appropriately sized flares as I dont do that #hellagaystance stuff.

Very nice. How much do those weigh? I bought some 15x9 with 225's while I wait for some 15x10's to be made this summer at 949 Racing. I really want to run some 275s. This may be an option for me.

And they are steel, so they will take a serious beating (Illinois roads are horrible).

How long did they take to get in? I assume back spacing refers to offset? I'll have to measure my setup and see how much rim I can have rear of the rotor before it contacts the shocks. Rear should be fine, but fronts get effected when turning. I already have flares.

Near as I can tell a 6" backspacing is +16mm offset in the way things are usually measured on Miatas.

So biased on my wheels that are 9 3/4" wide with a +20 offset, a rim that is 10" wide will add 3.3 mm of rim on each side of center (thus be 3.3 mm closer to the shock) but with the back space of +16 moves it 4mm away from the shock and so these rims will have exactly the same clearance to the shocks that I do.

And stick out of the wheel wells 1/4" more than mine.

Order was placed the 22nd, summit told me it would be the middle of June, but the showed up on Monday, so like a week and a half lol.

Jim, here is a good reference when changing backspace to offset. These are +13

offset references the center of the rim. backspacing references the inside edge.

Another good resource for comparing clearances, it does appear Jim's wheels would fit very similar to the ones I have. I would have several MM more clearance.

Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 3.8mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 10.2mm more than before

I added photos to the above post ^^

The factory Miata is 15x6 +36. So if these wheels are 15x10+13 so you are moving 50 mm closer to the shock with the added wheel width, but moving the wheel to the outside of the car by 20 mm with the offset. So the net is 30mm closer to the shock which in my estimation spelled out above will clear the wheel just fine but the tire to the sway bar is another matter...

This guy showed me +16 for the offset... https://www.customwheeloffset.com/ti...et-calculators

Here will be the offset vs stock

Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 25.2mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 89.2mm more than before.

As of now, I am running the Avanti Storm 15X9 wheels that are a +35 offset and only 12lbs. That means I have about 5.7in of wheel inside of the hub (0 offset would be 4.5 on both sides of centerline, then add 1.3in more for the 35mm offset). A 6in backspace would be about the same amount of rim inside the hub on a 10in rim .0 offset would be 5in each side of centerline (5in backspace). To get the same as a 15x9 I would need .7 more inches, or 6in backspace to get close.

My mind may have just blown a little. I have to think about this more, and if I really want to add another 9lbs per corner. The cost is soooo nice compared to the 949 Racing 6ULs though.

So okay, enough......slap em on and take some pics! LOL

Yea, I guess it all depends which factory wheels you compare, I was using the 14x5.5 that likely came on my 93.

Ill be between +12 and +16 comparing multiple sites and charts, thankfully in mm thatll be so marginal it shouldnt really matter.

See I was looking for a good street/strip/track wheel, roads are so crappy here I really didnt want to spend alot of money for CCW's or something along those lines, but really wanted that steam roller look.

These wheels are a good compromise in all of those categories in my case, basically I am just making a car that should hurt feelings on and off a track.

Ull have to wait quite some time for pics lol. The only reason I went ahead and purchased these was due to the fact that the summit tech sat on the phone and worked on getting these added to their inventory for at least a good hour haha.

Here is my cars current state, my wife and I close on our first house the 26th, so progress (minus my motor) wont really begin until then.

See, and those sit just a little too far from the center of the car for my liking, no need for the additional strain on your suspension components.

Jim, what size tires are you running?

I am currently thinking 235/50-15 R888, ide like to go 275 square, but dont know if my pocket book can afford it lol.

You sure you want to move your scrub radius out 2 3/4" on a track car?

No, but I will on a drag strip lol. The car is just meant to be a play toy, mainly a street machine, track will just be for fun.

Wait a sec here that car is +26 offset and yours is +13 so he is not as far out as you are.

255-40/17s and would kill for a 285-30/17, 300 treadware tire!

I'm going to align mine tonight so I'll put a ruler up there and take some photos and see if we can get a good estimate on how much space there will be on it.
