Default 8.8 T-Bird diff mount

As the title says, I have an 8.8 T-bird diff and need to mount it in Miata subframe. Let me know what you have......

8.8 Diff mount is a rather hot topic around here lately! Do you by chance have a welder and some fabricating skills? Also what is your plan for axles?

I do, and plan to make my own if I can't find a deal on it. As for the axles, I am not sure at this time. I have not done a lot of research on this so please share if you have knowledge that will help me. What axles are the best? A friend told me to make my own with the center shaft from DDS? I am considering a wider track and using the Ford hubs with custom A-arms.

LOL there is no deals on parts for these cars. It is a very tiny market and kit parts are very expensive compared to making your own. There is ton of info out here on this in posts on the subject and build threads. I have 3 posts in my blog that deal just with rear end work. But since there is fresh thread on this start here.

Tons of good photos and info in that thread. Don't miss the link in post 11 to Mikes blog. And I would suggest you read his blog cover to cover. He swapped to 5 bolt hubs if that is what you are looking to do with the tbird axle idea.

What engine are you using?

Thanks Jim.
After a LITTLE searching I believe I found the mount that I will MAKE myself. I will read the blog for sure. I have a 2000 Camaro SS (LS1) with T56. I found a deal on "everything needed to do LS swap in Miata".....but I don't want to use 4.1 Torsen from an FC RX7. I should have MOST of the big ticket items except for the half shafts. I will surely do a build thread when I actually get started building.

Yep, that is the one I found and liked!

Cool. Welcome to the family Chris! You might want to page through my blog too then. I didn't write it as a technical guide really but it has lots of good info for a guy in your position right now.

For what it's worth I analyzed every option on the planet and decided the Ford 8.8 with Monster Miata axles was the best and cheapest way to go. One of the many things I would have done different in my build was make my own diff mount and you will see that as you process the info in these threads.

So when you say everything needed to you have an engine mount? Cooling system? You should just start a build thread now and show us what you got! And I should just leave you alone so you can get to reading...
